Armenians of Los Angeles demand from the Department of State not to recognize the outcomes of the presidential election in Armenia

On February 24, in the district of Los Angeles named "Minor Armenia" a rally of the Armenians who live in this American city was held, where the participants addressed the US Department of State not to recognize the outcomes of the presidential election in Armenia. This information was reported by the press service of the American centre in support of Levon Ter-Petrosyan in Los Angeles.

According to the message, 15,000 persons took part in the rally. The participants made a decision to join the all-national movement in Armenia. They have demanded from the US Department of State to demonstrate consistency in defence of democratic principles in Armenia and to reject the outcomes of the election on February 19. The speakers at the rally have subjected the presidential election of Armenia, accompanied by lots of violations, to sharp criticism. It was also noted that among numerous violations there were many cases of violence on representatives of the opposition.

The participants of the rally called on the government of Armenia to release all political prisoners, stop prosecution of oppositionists and lift up the information blockade.
