Georgia to get 2 million euros from European Commission to prepare elections

Today, the European Commission has announced allocation of two million euros to Georgia as support to preparation of the parliamentary elections to be held on May 21.

The press release issued on the occasion by the executive body of the European Union runs that these funds are aimed to support Georgia's efforts to eliminate the drawbacks revealed during the January presidential election and in response to the request received from this country.

The European Commission hopes that the assistance package will help in improving the election process and provide the voters with sufficient information, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
