Lokshina: federals stopped marauding in four Georgian villages
Tatiana Lokshina, representative of the Human Rights Watch, said that the federal agencies had stopped the marauders, who acted in four Georgian villages located along the Dzhava-Tskhinvali highway.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that yesterday, on August 14, Boris Chochiev, vice-premier and special minister of the non-recognized republic, stated that two marauders were executed in South Ossetia. He promised to treat the issue "still tougher".
According to Tatiana Lokshina, the federal military services have succeeded in fighting marauding also in Georgia.
"Yesterday, some houses were still on fire, but there were no new fires," the "Echo Moskvy" quotes Ms Lokshina as saying.
At the same time, Givi Targamadze, chairman of the Georgian parliamentary committee for security and defence matters, has declared that the Russian Army is itself engaged in marauding in the territory of Georgia, as the UNIAN correspondent reports.
Meanwhile, employees of the United Nations assert that UN humanitarian organizations and observers have no chance to soothe people's sufferings in many regions damaged by the war around South Ossetia. The reason is in skirmishes, have not stopped despite the ceasefire agreement reached through French mediation.
