Center to Protect Rights of Azerbaijan Refugees and IDPs created in Baku

Tatyana Cheladze, chairwoman of the newly registered Center to Protect Azerbaijan Refugees and IDPs [internally displaced persons], held a press conference in Baku on May 11. One of the Center's main goals is to seek recognition of the Khodzhaly residents as genocide victims. In case of such recognition, the Center will be able to file claims with the European Court concerning Khodzhaly residents' property disputes. Besides, the 1st volume of a documentary chronicle has been prepared. It contains all information about 784 residents of Khodzhaly.

A program to place refugees and IDPs in jobs is another part of the Center's future activity.
