Armenian Transport Minister: country's transport system is ready to opening Turkish border

Gurgen Sarkisyan, Transport Minister, told journalists that the transport system of Armenia is ready to opening of the Armenian-Turkish border.

According to his story, his Ministry has not yet received any orders on preparing the transport system for opening of the border, but all the access roads to the border are in operating condition.

The Minister said that the only problem is the condition of check points, but they can be repaired and commissioned immediately after agreements reached between Armenia and Turkey.

Apart from railway, Armenia and Turkey are connected by two highways passing via Margara station (Armavir Region) to the west of Yerevan and via Gyumri to the northwest of the capital.
