Khazbiev: Evkurov failed to bridle special agencies in Ingushetia

President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov failed to meet the expectations and trust of the population and could not bridle the special agencies guilty of spread of violence over the republic. This was stated by Magomed Khazbiev, one of the leaders of the Ingush opposition.

"Until special agencies, this 'death squadrons', continue their practice - when they rush into houses, take away guys; then, the guys disappear; until they go on shooting dead young men in broad daylight in the streets, there'll be no stop to violence. There'll be response blows, explosions, terror acts, and guys will go to forests," said Mr Khazbiev on May 10, making comments on data in media on aggravation of the criminal situation in Ingushetia.

Magomed Khazbiev has noted that destabilization had started back at the previous President Murat Zyazikov. Protest actions held by the opposition resulted in a suspension for the time being of kidnappings committed by power agents, but after the change of Ingushetia's leadership, according to the oppositionist, the situation "has just aggravated."

"After the advent of new President, we (the opposition, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot") gave him a credit of trust. We sometimes only stated and told journalists that the situation was unchanged. However, it has become worse," Mr Khazbiev said on air of the "Echo Moskvy" Radio, having mentioned the case of execution of the family of certain Aliev, who allegedly left to join militants.

In the opinion of the oppositionist, the only person who had managed to put things in order in the Republic, was President Ruslan Aushev. Khazbiev believes that only Aushev can cope with this task again.
