Four local residents kidnapped in Chechnya

At night on May 10, in Bachi-Yurt village, Kurchaloy District of Chechnya, unidentified power agents kidnapped four persons. All of them are elderly people.

The incident in Bachi-Yurt village is the second kidnapping case in Chechnya within the last three weeks. In both cases, the kidnappers were some "power agents" dressed in black military uniform.

"Late at night on May 10, employees of some local power structures, who arrived to our village in several cars, detained, without any explanations, and took away four our fellows villagers: Ali Ibriev, Salamu Dzhabrailov, Umar-Hadji Edisultanov and Rukman Khizriev," a resident of Bachi-Yurt, Salman by name, said in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, the agents did not present themselves and said nothing about the reasons of detention and the place where the detainees would be kept. They are all elderly persons - Ibriev is 60, others are over 50, and, according to the source, they are nothing of the militants.

The villagers are bewildered: what the reason was to kidnap old persons at night, when they could be peacefully summoned to militia and presented charges if any.

According to Salman, relatives of the kidnapped persons have unconfirmed data that Ibriev, Dzhabrailov, Edisultanov and Khizriev could be kept in the base of one of power agencies, deployed in Tsentaroy village (family village of President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov).
