MIA of Chechnya: special operations will last till liquidation of all militants

A source from Chechnya's MIA asserts that the special operations aimed at searching and liquidating the militants, who hide in the mountain areas of Chechnya and in the vicinity of the administrative border with Ingushetia, will be conducted until all the militants are liquidated.

The source of the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has confirmed the information that additional law enforcers have been sent to the south of Chechnya, and that the special operation to liquidate participants of illegal armed formations (IAF), which was launched in the vicinity of the administrative border with Ingushetia, continues.

The source has added that today a body of an IAF member was found in the forest near Arshty village, Sunzha District.

"His person is now being established. Two out of three bandits killed yesterday in a skirmish are foreign citizens. A passport of a citizen of Azerbaijan was found on one of them. The second one, most likely, is a native of a Mid-East country," he said.

At the same time, as the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told today at the Investigatory Department for Ingushetia of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation, in the course of an armed clash of militiamen with a group of unknown persons in Alkun village, Sunzha District of Ingushetia, two IAF members were killed and three civilians were wounded.

On May 17, in the city of Magas, Presidents of Chechnya and Ingushetia Ramzan Kadyrov and Yunus-Bek Evkurov coordinated joint actions of their power agencies in fighting the armed underground. The former expressed his confidence that militants' leaders "will be liquidated in the near future."
