ICPO: "Vostok" battalion servicemen were involved in disappearance of their comrade-in-arms

Inspectors have found proofs of involvement of militaries of the battalion "Vostok" (East), which was subordinated to the so-called "GRU" (Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian General Staff) in disappearance of their colleague Alikhan Khaladov in July 2004. This was stated by the official Chechen spokesman of the ID for Chechnya of the ICPO.

According to servicemen's evidences, in early July of 2004 Khaladov was brought, under the order of Sulim Yamadaev, the then commander of the battalion, to the house of Sulim's brother Isa in the city of Gudermes, where people saw him for the last time several days after the disappearance, as reported by the "Kasparov.ru".

"Now, inspectors have enough proofs of involvement of 'Vostok' militaries in Khaladov's disappearance; therefore, military inspectors will go on with further investigation," the "Gazeta.Ru" quotes the said spokesman.
