Evkurov: attackers on president of Ingushetia are no longer alive

The militants who participated in the attack on President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov have been revealed; and at present they are not alive. This was reported today in an interview to journalists by Mr Evkurov himself.

Let us note here that already two days after the attack, on July 24, Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) said that four persons had been detained on the case of the attempt on President of Ingushetia, and four more had been arrested. On July 17, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported detention of suspects of hijacking the Toyota Camry car that had been used in the terror act.

"Those who needed to have their heads off, they had them off some two-three-four weeks later by law enforcers," said the Ingush President in his interview to the "Russian News Service".

As to the customers, according to Mr Evkurov, they are also known.

"These are Doku Umarov and leaders of bandit formations," President Evkurov has explained. "The corrupt bosses have no such opportunities; they surely lack boldness and impudence to do it. It's clear that it's hard to reach the customers, their leaders. But we'll surely reach them," the "Izvestia" newspaper quotes the leader of Ingushetia.

In the course of investigation, operative agents considered two versions of the attempt on the president of Ingushetia - attack of militants and revenge of corrupt officials, the war on whom was announced to be Evkurov's priority.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the militants acting in Northern Caucasus had announced themselves responsible for the attempt on Evkurov.
