In Azerbaijan, Bundestag deputy was again prohibited to meet arrested bloggers
Jorg Tauss, a deputy of German Bundestag, has arrived for the second time in the last two months in Baku in connection with the fate of young arrested bloggers Emin Milli and Adnan Gadjizade, accused of hooliganism. However, same as in late July, he was not allowed to meet them in the Baku SIZO, in spite of the fact that he had sent a prior letter to President Ilham Aliev.
The parliamentarian has come with a private visit; therefore, the embassy of Germany makes no comments on his visit. However, as reported by the youth activist, who is accompanying Mr Tauss in his voyage, in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, the German MP had a meeting with Ombudsperson of Azerbaijan Elmira Suleimanova.
In the course of the meeting they discussed the bloggers' case; however, Ms Suleimanova could not help Jorg Tauss in meeting the young men, saying that this was the competence of law enforcement bodies. Then, the MP sent written requests to the Prosecutor's Office, MIA and Ministry of Justice, asking to give him a chance to meet Milli and Gadjizade, but received no answer.
The press services of these agencies refused to give any comments.
