About 9000 are still without electricity in Dagestan

Because of strong snowfalls and wire icing, electric power supplies are broken in the Buinaksk, Karabudakhkent and Sergokalin Districts of Dagestan. About nine thousand residents are still without electricity; they promise to restore supplies by February 15.

Today, several districts of Dagestan are again without electricity. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the OJSC "MRSK Northern Caucasus" that as a result of icing of high-voltage wires and strong winds distribution networks of the "Dagenergo" Branch were switched off.

As of 9 a.m. on February 12, 36 high-voltage lines and 287 transformer stations were off. In total, about 9000 persons remain without electric power. It is planned to eliminate the failure by the evening of February 15.

"Repairs are complicated by adverse weather conditions and impassable roads," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the OJSC.
