3000 are in flooding zone in Volgograd Region
In the Volgograd Region, as a result of high water, over three thousand citizens are under the threat of flooding. This was reported by the press services of the Regional Ministry for Emergencies (MfE). Residents of seven districts - Frolovskiy, Mikhailovskiy, Ilovlinskiy, Olkhovskiy, Pallasovskiy, Bykovskiy and Kumylzhanskiy - have already suffered from high water.
Evacuation of residents was not required. Ice clogs were blown up in minor rivers of the Frolovskiy and Kikvidzenskiy Districts. Rescuers of the MfE improve banks, clean river beds and pump out water from flooded houses, the ITAR-TASS reports.
The ADI "Southern Region" also writes about water removal away from settlements, river cleaning and strengthening of banks and streets by diking with ground, rubble and sand.
