A meeting against oil terminals was held in Yeisk
An ecologic meeting against oil terminals in the town passed off in Yeisk (Krasnodar region). Over 800 people took part in it, "Ecologic Watch of North Caucasus" reports.
"Our town is a health resort. Holidaymakers annually bring more than 10 billion rubles here and this money belongs to our residents. The terminal they are going to build will never provide us with such a sum of money. I am sure all the townsmen should support the initiative of banning the transshipment of petrochemical products in Yeisk", Sergey Glazunov, deputy of Yeisk District Council, said speaking before the participants.
The meeting was organized by Coordination council of patriotic forces of Yeisk district which included representatives of different political parties and non-governmental organizations, among them the Communist party of the Russian Federation, "For the Sake of Truth and Unity" (STU) and others.
The participants accepted a resolution demanding to prevent transshipment of oil through the territory of the resort town of Yeisk, they also expressed distrust towards regional and district authorities.
