Tkachev sacks officials who failed to help flood victims
The authorities of the Krasnodar Territory have dismissed the deputy head of the Tuapse District responsible for civil defence and emergencies and the head of the Georgievskiy rural settlement of the Tuapse District "for poor help to population who suffered from flooding."
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on September 16 strongest showers in the Krasnodar Territory raised the level of Pshenakha and Tuapsinka Mountain Rivers. Seven villages and 17 settlements of the district were flooded; six bridges were destroyed. There are casualties and missing persons.
Alexander Tkachev, Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, announced his decision to fire his top subordinates during his visit to Kirpichny settlement in the Tuapse District, affected by flooding, the "Interfax" reports.
Governor Tkachev has signed a decree, under which the flood victims will get lump sum financial help. Every victim will get 10,000 roubles. The total payments prescribed by the Governor will make almost 50 million roubles.
