"Voice of Beslan" gives terror act documents to Ms Arbur

"We've managed to meet the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbur, although with certain difficulties. Nobody had warned us that early in the morning she would be at school. Although representatives of "Beslan Mothers" were with her, nobody had warned us about her arrival," Ella Kesaeva, co-chairman of the "Voice of Beslan" Committee, has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Therefore, we went to the building of the government, where Arbur had a meeting with the leader of the Republic. The securities have recognized us, probably, they were afraid of scandal and let us in. However, they told us that we should have just a couple of minutes."

"However, during our meeting we managed to tell her about our problems and handed over a short appeal to the United Nations and some documents on crimes of militaries committed during the tragedy and especially during the storm. I told her that we are victims and want very much to be listened to at the United Nations. Not militaries, not inspectors, but we - the victims," Ms Kesaeva said. "To make them hear the truth about the Beslan tragedy from us. She listened to us and said that she would help us, and asked us to be in contact with the HRC "Memorial", they will also help us. She said that the whole world sympathizes with us, the whole world wants to know the truth, and the whole world will support us."

We remind you that today the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbur has visited the memorial cemetery of the victims of the terror act committed on September 1-3, 2004, in Beslan (North Ossetia), the "Interfax" reports.

Then, the UN High Commissioner went, together with representatives of North Ossetian Government, towards the destroyed School No. 1 in Beslan.

On February 20, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbur started her visit to Russia, which resulted in a meeting with President Vladimir Putin. According to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, in her trip Louise Arbur is accompanied by Ella Pamfilova, Chair of the Board for Promoting Development of Civil Society Institutes and Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation.

Ella Kesaeva has also told that "so far, there were no promises about any particular help." "Still, we are satisfied with the meeting. She took our documents, promised to study them, and then to talk about particular assistance," Ms Kesaeva said. "She listened to us very good-naturedly and attentively, therefore, I'm sure she will make certain conclusions."

Also, according to Ella Kesaeva, they managed to agree about a meeting with Ella Pamfilova. "She was nearby and said she was also concerned very much with all Beslan problems and wanted to meet us, to discuss our problems, for us not to think that nobody wants to get engaged in our problems," Ms Kesaeva said. "So far, no particular date was appointed, preliminary, it's February 28. She emphasized - when you can, I'll be ready to meet you!"

"We are quite satisfied - we told everything that we wanted both to Louise Arbur and Ella Pamfilova," Ella Kesaeva, co-chair of the "Voice of Beslan" Public Organization, has stressed in her interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
