Villagers of Tsibari - fire victims - to be settled in Dagestani cities

It is planned to accommodate the homeless citizens of the burnt-down Dagestani village of Tsibari in the cities of Kaspiisk, Kizilyurt, Buinaksk and Kizlyar. The authorities plan to completely solve the problem of providing housing to fire victims by April 2011.

As reported by Magomed Mukhtarov, head of the civil defence department of the Chief Directorate of the Russia's Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) for the Republic of Dagestan, on December 15-16, Tsibari was visited by the MfE's working group to meet the villagers who suffered from the fire on November 30, 2010.

According to Gusein Magdiev, head of the Tsuntin District of Dagestan, the district administration has examined, together with the MfE, 33 households in the villages of Shauri and Mokok, where victims may be resettled. The head of Shauri village has confirmed his readiness to accept people, but, in his words, "the houses are old; they remained uninhabited for a long time and need minor repairs."

The person authorized by Tsibari villagers said that none of the victims had left the village. Women live in a local school, and men - in two tents, for 12 and 40 persons. Some of the survivors huddle in 11 remaining houses, in the kindergarten, and the building of the pension fund.

According to Dzhabrail Anvarbegova, Chairman of the Assembly of Deputies of the Municipal Formation "Tsuntin District" and a resident of Tsibari, in total 85 families are now homeless - 310 persons, including 152 children. 35 families went to live with their relatives in neighbouring villages.
