Visit by Nino Burdjanadze to Moscow - details
Vladimir Putin met Acting President of Georgia Nino Burdjanadze in the Kremlin on Thursday December 25. It was a face to face meeting.
They discussed "urgent issues of the Russian-Georgian relations", according to official sources.
Then Ms. Burdjanadze met with Russian Minister of Defense Sergey Ivanov.
He stressed that "Russia's security depends on the development of the situation in Georgia in many respects".
In her turn, Nino Burdjanadze noted the relationships between defense ministries of the two countries are "not too warm". And this problem should be resolved.
But, according to her, it is time to do more than discuss but solve the backlog of problems. "I really see that Russia has a wish to build up new relations with Georgia. We have the same wish too. We are ready to change our relations so that to make them constructive," she said.
