Special operation in Achkhoy-Martan district
On the night of December 27-28, 2003, at 11 p.m., there was a "purge" in the village of Valerik, Chechnya's Achkhoy-Martan district. It was conducted by members of President of Chechnya Ahmad Kadyrov's security service. Kadyrov's people came to the village in 32 UAZ cars. They told themselves who they were and said their actions had been approved by the Chechen Interior Minister and President Kadyrov. Residents of the village, Izhayev and Arbi Gaitukayev, were among the five people arrested and released the next day. While capturing Arbi Gaitukayev, Kadyrov's people broke his arm, they also beat his mother. Said-Magomed Pogayev, 1983, who was arbitrary arrested, is not released so far.
