Leader of the People’s party Roland Kelekhsaev beaten up in South Osetia
In the afternoon of October, 3, presidential aspirant Roland Kelekhsaev, leader of the People’s party of South Osetia, was beaten up by unknown people. This was reported to the “Caucasian Knot” by Roland Kelekhsaev himself.
“At about 11:50 (October, 3) I was stopped by a “Niva” car in Lenin street of Tshinval. Five masked and camouflaged men with guns came out of it. They broke the window glasses of my car, told me to lie down on the ground and struck me in my jaws with a butt. I collapsed. Now my jaw has swelled and hurts. After that they dragged me through the mud and carried to Chief Directorate of Interior Affairs of South Osetia”, Kelekhsaev said.
“When I regained consciousness in the office they told me to lie down on the floor and started interrogating me. Then from all appearances, they received a call from someone, flung my documents down and told me to go away in five minutes. After that I left”, he continues.
According to Kelekhsaev, on October, 3, he went to South Osetia to visit his people who were collecting signatures for him. “I wanted to sum everything up today and take the documents to Central Election Committee but as I am beaten up… I don’t even know what I am to do now”, he said.
Kelekhsaev is currently undergoing medical examination in Vladikavkaz to make a formal record of beating.
The “Caucasian Knot” has no comments from Chief Directorate of Interior Affairs of South Osetia on the information reported by Kelekhsaev yet.
