E-daybooks to be introduced in schools of Georgia
Starting November 1, schools of Georgia will introduce electronic daybooks, where parents will be able to control the academic progress of their children in the online mode, Dmitry Shashkin, the Georgian Minister of Education, announced on October 13.
According to his story, thanks to e-daybooks, parents will receive SMS-messages or monitor their children's achievements through the school website. The minister has noted that since November 1, the programme will operate in several schools of Tbilisi, and in 2012, it is planned to introduce it step by step in all schools in Georgia.
The minister said that all this should ensure the transparency of the education system and a deeper involvement of parents in the learning process of their children.
As part of the unified e-strategy, they have already created the unified database of pupils and teachers, the "News-Georgia" reports.
