Abkhazian side promises to set Georgian NGO activist David Badjagua free till end of week
The Abkhazian side promises to set David Badjagua free till the end of the week, Levan Akubardia, a coordinator of the Association of Young Lawyers and Political Scientists, told Novosti-Gruzia. David Badjagua, an activist of the Association, was abducted by an armed gang in the zone of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict on January 27.
According to Levan Akubardia, the issue of setting David Badjagua free was discussed on January 28 at an administrative meeting between representatives of the Georgian and Abkhazian sides in the village of Chuburkhindzhi, situated in the conflict zone.
The Abkhazian representatives announced they knew Badjagua's abductors and whereabouts and took all measures to set him free.
According to the Association's data, the activist of the organization was abducted by Gena Ashkhartsava, who leads a 30-strong group operating in the Gali district.
