Buzurtanov's sister asks leaders of Ingushetia and North Ossetia to take inquiry into his kidnapping under control
The criminal case initiated on disappearance in North Ossetia of Akhmed Buzurtanov, a coach of the Ingush Sports Club "Kaloy", is not investigated, relatives of the missing person assert.
Buzurtanov disappeared in the evening on December 6, 2012, in the village of Maiskoe, Prigorodny District of North Ossetia. Local residents assert that he was forced into a car by unidentified persons in camouflage and driven away to some unknown place.
Liza Buzurtanova told reporters at a press conference held on February 21 in Moscow that so far there was no information about the whereabouts of her brother.
According to her story, there are witnesses of her brother's kidnapping, who were ready, from the very beginning, to testify. "But now these people are silent; and I understand them: they fear for their lives – in our republic no one is safe from being the next kidnapped person," said Liza Buzurtanova.
"We demand from the guarantors of the Constitution of the Russian Federation in the regions – the heads of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov and of North Ossetia Taimuraz Mamsurov – to assist in searching our brother and take the investigation under their personal control," said the woman.
"The crime was committed in the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia; and de jure the kidnapping is investigated by professionals from Ossetia; however, we sent our appeals and complaints to the responsible authorities of both republics – North Ossetia and Ingushetia. Each application of Akhmed's relatives gets a standard response that 'the inquiry is going on'," said Vakha Belkharoev, a journalist from Ingushetia and a relative of the Buzurtanov family.
According to his story, the relatives of Akhmed Buzurtanov have grounds to believe that power agents might be involved in his kidnapping; however, he did not specify any particular bodies.
The lawyer Zaur Sadakhanov refrained from accusations of certain persons and bodies, saying that at this stage he was puzzled with the fact that in connection with Akhmed Buzurtanov's kidnapping a criminal case was opened under the article of "intentional homicide" of the Russian Criminal Code.
