Dagestan: Prosecutor's Office checks expenditures on school repairs after rally of children's parents
The Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan has initiated the inspection of purposeful expenditures of funds for repairs at the school located in the village of Terechnoe of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan. On September 2, at the school, a spontaneous rally was held by parents and teachers who reported on the catastrophic condition of the school building. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan on September 4.
The Prosecutor's Office acknowledges that the school building is in poor condition and thus starts to check the use of the budget funds allocated for the maintenance and repair works. This was reported by the website of the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan.
Let us remind you that in Dagestan, following the inspection of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russia's Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision), eight rural schools were not allowed starting their work in the new school year. According to the Agency, schooling in these educational institutions is dangerous to children's life and health.
In its turn, the Ministry of Education of Dagestan claims an acute shortage of school places: because of the shortage, 744 Dagestani schools work in two shifts, and 12 – even in three shifts. Meanwhile, according to Vakhid Gasimov, Deputy Chief of the administration of the Khasavyurt District, his district only has "about fifteen" schools working in three shifts.
