Investigators associate diplomat's murder in Abkhazia with his involvement in construction of Embassy building
The murder of Dmitry Vishernev, a Russian diplomat, committed in the city of Sukhumi, could be caused by his involvement in major construction contracts and by his informal search for a Russian businessman, who disappeared in autumn of 2012. This was reported by sources from investigating bodies.
Let us remind you that in the morning of September 9, the Vice-Consul Dmitry Vishernev, First Secretary of the Embassy of Russia to Abkhazia, was killed in Sukhumi. He was shot dead when he drove in his service car out of the garage next to the house, where he rented his apartment. His wife Olga, who accompanied him, was seriously wounded, and on September 14 she died at hospital.
Investigators revealed that Dmitry Vishernev had been informally searching for Sergey Klemantovich, a Russian businessman, who disappeared in autumn 2012 under unclear circumstances. This was reported by a source from the Abkhazian General Prosecutor's Office.
The source has emphasized that the investigators are considering several other versions in parallel, all of the versions are equal; no priority is being given to any of them, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
One of the above versions implies involvement of Dmitry Vishernev in the major construction contracts on the amount of about 35 million US dollars allocated from the Russian budget for the construction of a complex of buildings of the Russian Embassy in Sukhumi.
