Demolition in Karabulak began prior to eviction of tenants, local woman asserts
In the Ingush city of Karabulak, they began smashing a two-story house at No. 21 Rabochaya Street, where three families live. The works continue even at night, as Firdaus Musieva, a tenant, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to her story, Karabulak has built a few houses, intended for the people resettled from dilapidated housing. However, No. 21, according to Musieva, is not in this category, while the apartments, they are offered, are smaller in area than the ones they inhabit now.
The woman has added that there are persons with disabilities in the above families, who should be provided – in accordance with the law – with apartments not above the second level, while they are offered to move into the fourth and fifth levels.
Musieva told that on November 18 the tenants were received by the Karabulak Public Prosecutor Izamail Kodzoev; however, no help was rendered, she said and added that they tried to intimidate the tenants by sending some armed persons, who said that there were firearms in one of the apartments.
The lawyer Isa Nakostoev, who is representing the tenants of the house, said that the Karabulak administration was acting contrary to the laws of the Russian Federation. Besides, as he said, there are no documents that the house is dilapidated.
The Karabulak Prosecutor Izmail Kodzoev said that he was aware of the problem; and the applicants would be informed about the results of his check.
