Another bodyguard of Maskhadov surrenders
The press service for the Combined Federal Forces in Chechnya reported on April 11 that the man was Magomed Kazayev, who was a member of the rebel group led by Shaa Turlayev, chief of Maskhadov's security.
Kazayev was hiding in the village of Ishkhoy-Yurt in Chechnya's Gudermes district. He said that he had left the rebel group and followed other rebels, including commanders Magomed Khambiyev, Shaa Turlayev and Boris Aidamirov.
Kazayev said that about seven members of this group planned to surrender within the next few days.
Another 30 rebels, members of various groups active in Chechnya's Achkhoy-Martan, Vedeno and Nozhay-Yurt districts, surrendered last week.
