Georgian president: Georgian authorities do not attempt Abashidze's life

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has denied information spread by the head of Georgia's Adjarian autonomy, Aslan Abashidze, on April 22 that the Georgian leadership have plans of physical destruction of Abashidze. Saakashvili told a briefing in the State Chancellery that Tbilisi "doesn't have such intentions." "Mr Abashidze has counted up that 74 attempts on his life have been prepared for the last 10 years," the president added.
