Followers of Zviad Gamsakhurdia surrender to Georgian authorities
15 followers of Georgian ex-president Zviad Gamsakhurdia, who have been hiding in the forests for 12 years, have laid down arms voluntarily. Negotiations with Vakhtang Zardania's group were conducted by Georgian First Deputy State Security Minister Gigi Ugulava. As it was arranged, Zardania's group has delivered a large amount of weapons to the law-enforcement agencies in exchange for the exemption from criminal prosecution.
