Officer of republican interior ministry killed in Chechnya
Khamid Khadzhiyev, an officer of the Chechen interior ministry, was killed by unknown people in the town of Shali in Chechnya on April 25. "At about 19:20 local time, gunmen in masks and camouflage uniforms opened fire from automatic weapons on commander of the PPS (patrol and sentry service) battalion of the Shali district interior department Senior Lieutenant Khamid Khadzhiyev when he was going home from work. The officer died at the scene. The bandits escaped. Actions to search for the criminals are under way in Shali," a duty officer at the Chechen interior ministry said to the Caucasian Knot correspondent on April 26.
