Georgia ready to assure Abashidze's safety if he voluntarily resigns
Security guarantees will be offered to head of the Adjarian autonomy Aslan Abashidze, his family and close circle, if he voluntarily resigns. "This is the only question the Georgian authorities are ready to discuss with Abashidze," said Gigi Bokeria, a leader of the ruling bloc United National Movement - Democrats. Earlier the Adjarian leader had suggested holding talks with the Georgian leadership in order to resolve the conflict between Tbilisi and Batumi.
