In Krasnodar, activist Darya Polyudova arrested on suspicion of extremism

In Krasnodar, Darya Polyudova, an activist of the "ROT-Front", the United Communist Party of Novorossiysk, one of the organizers of the failed "March for Kuban Federalization", who had been earlier detained on charges of disorderly conduct, has been arrested on suspicion of extremism.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the action "March for Kuban Federalization" was scheduled by its organizers for August 17 for Krasnodar. On August 15, Darya Polyudova was detained on charges of disorderly conduct, and on the next day, the court sentenced her to 14 days of administrative arrest.

However, the woman was not released upon the expiration of her arrest term. The Russian FSB Department for the KrasnodarTerritory has instituted against the activist two criminal cases at once: under Part 2 of Article 280 (public appeals for extremist activity committed on the Internet) and Part 2 of Article 282.1 (involvement in an extremist grouping) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by an official from the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory.

According to the prosecutor, at the request of investigators, the court has taken Darya Polyudova in custody as a pre-trial restriction. The activist is kept at the SIZO No. 5 (pre-trial prison) of the FSB Department for the KrasnodarTerritory.
