Armenian opposition keeps on demanding president's resignation
In spite of the beginning of negotiations with the ruling coalition, the Armenian opposition does not intend to abandon its main demand - Robert Kocharian's resignation. Viktor Dallakian, secretary of the Justice bloc, announced it in parliament on May 11.
"Kocharian must resign. The one who raised his hand on his own people will be rejected by everybody," Mr Dallakian said. The opposition still intends to hold a meeting in Yerevan on May 14, in spite of the negotiations with the coalition, the deputy said. Moreover, today it will hold a meeting in Vanadzor, another Armenian town.
On May 4, the opposition declared a 10-day moratorium on the holding of meetings in connection with the beginning of negotiations with the ruling coalition.
