Russian tourists complain about sudden rise in prices at "Roza Khutor" Resort
Tourists have expressed their protest against rising prices at the "Roza Khutor" Ski Resort by running an online petition addressed to the resort administration.
On December 4, the administration of "Roza Khutor" announced a new price list for skiing. The document states that in the period from December 26, 2014, to January 10, 2015, the prices will grow by more than 40% as compared with September.
The actions have caused a wave of indignation in social networks. On December 5, a petition was launched to the administration of "Roza Khutor" demanding to reduce the price of the ski pass. As of 7:00 a.m. on December 8, it was signed by 1100 persons.
"The 'Roza Khutor' has acted extremely disrespectful to its clients by changing the prices of a ski pass (it was 1850 roubles, now it is 2650 roubles) for the New Year holidays, having done it one month before the New Year," says the petition. "People simply have no way out, as tickets are bought, the hotel is paid for; and look for something at other resorts is too late, because everything is sold out everywhere."
The actions of the resort administration have attracted the attention of Nikolai Valuev, an MP of the State Duma. "We, as MPs, will send a request to the appropriate service; and next week we'll clear it out," said Valuev, as quoted by the Radio "Russian News Service".
