Collected articles, devoted to elections in Chechnya, presented in Moscow
The collected articles "Chechnya 2003: Political Process in Zazerkalye" was presented at the Independent Press Center in Moscow on May 20. Lyudmila Alekseyeva, Chairwoman of the Moscow Helsinki Group (MGH); Tatyana Lokshina, Director of the MHG Expert and Analytical Center; Aleksandr Cherkasov of the Human Rights Center Memorial; Grigory Shvedov, Director of the Caucasian Knot Internet Information Agency; and Maksim Leskov, a member of the Presidential Commission on Human Rights took part in the press conference arranged on the occasion of the publication of the book. Results of the monitoring of presidential and parliamentary elections in Chechnya conducted by the Moscow Helsinki Group with the support of the Caucasian Knot agency and the Memorial center form the basis of the book. Besides, a chronicle of human rights violations in the Chechen Republic and a digest of reports by the Caucasian Knot agency concerning elections in the North and South Caucasus are included in it.
