In Dagestan, one of women-hunger-strikers stops it (+video)
In Dagestan, an 83-year-old participant of the hunger strike in the village of Shushiya of the Novolak District has stopped her hunger strike at the request of other protestors. According to the hunger-strikers, their health state is normal.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, 10 residents of the village of Shushiya resumed their hunger strike demanding to return in the form of shares 9 hectares of land leased out by Agricultural Production Cooperative (APC) "Almaz". On March 17, one more female resident of the village joined them.
Today, the 83-year-old Bati Djakhparova, the eldest participant of the protest action, has stopped her hunger strike. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by her nephew Gusein Djakhparov, who also took part in the hunger strike.
"At her age, it is dangerous. She felt bad, and she spent all the time in bed. We asked her to stop protesting. At present, there are 10 of us," the man has said.
Today, the hunger-strikers were visited by Garun Davydov, the Deputy Minister of National Policy.
"I myself am a resident of this village. Today, I met people and urged them to wait for the court's decision. The consideration is to be held on March 30. I managed to convince some people. However, a lot of people do not trust courts. Once again, I urge them to stop their hunger strike and wait for the decision of the court. And only in case if the decision is not in their favour, then, they may take some actions," Garun Davydov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
