Defence of Chechen resident Asrudi Musaev claims falsification of evidence in his case
Asrudi Musaev, a resident of Chechnya, has been sentenced for aiding and abetting fraud with maternity capital, despite the numerous contradictions in the testimonies of witnesses and suspicious coincidences in the interrogation protocols. This has been stated by his defence in the complaint filed to the Prosecutor's Office.
32-year-old Asrudi Musaev has been sentenced to 1.5 years of imprisonment in a common-security penal colony and fined 30,000 roubles. The court has found him guilty of aiding and abetting Chechen resident Serbieva put on the wanted list on charge of fraud in the amount of 17,950,227 roubles, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by Musa Madeev, an advocate of Asrudi Musaev.
"We are talking about cashing maternity capital. Asrudi Musaev worked as a private taxi driver and sometimes offered his services as a driver to Serbieva. The verdict against her has not been announced, and she has not been found guilty by the court. In such a situation, of what kind of aiding and abetting the crime can we talk?" the defender has said.
During the preliminary and judicial investigation, the defence repeatedly filed complaints to the Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Chechnya about the falsification of the case materials; however, no reaction to them followed. This has been stated by the complaint to the Chechen Prosecutor's Office filed by Musa Madeev on March 31.
