At trial of Boris Stomakhin, court questions his cellmate and linguistics expert

On April 8, at the trial in the case against journalist Boris Stomakhin accused of public justification of the terror acts in Volgograd, the court questioned two people. A former cellmate of the defendant told the court that the journalist expresses his joy about the terror act in Volgograd. According to the linguistics expert, the texts incriminated to Boris Stomakhin contain no calls for terror acts and violence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 31, the third trial in the case against Boris Stomakhin began at the Moscow District Military Court. The case refers to the statement on the terror acts in Volgograd committed on December 29-30, 2013, titled "Or to blow up a pair of rail stations here!" and published in a blog on the "LJ.Rossia" on January 18, 2014.

The defence declares Boris Stomakhin is not guilty and claims that at the time when the text was posted on the Internet, the journalist was in the SIZO (pre-trial prison), and it was impossible to place anything on the Internet from the prison.

On April 8, prosecution witness Sergey Gusevsaid that his cellmate at the SIZO-4 "Medvedkovo" kept a diary and handed it over to his advocate.

Besides, the court has also questioned Antonina Levochskaya, the Candidate of Philological Sciences, who was involved in psycho-linguistic examination of the statement "Or to blow up a pair of rail stations!" The expert has explained that the examination of the text revealed in it no calls for terrorism, violence, or discrimination based on race and other characteristics of persons.

According to the expert, the only detected appeal in the text is a call to support the terrorist organization "Imarat Kavkaz". Meanwhile, the statement "contains a justification of the terror acts in Volgograd and the approval of the criminals who had committed those acts."
