Student of Astrakhan higher school accused of supporting IS
Saida Khalikova, a student of the Astrakhan Medical Academy, was sure that she donated money to a charitable fund; but now she is accused of sponsoring the "Islamic State", said her advocate.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 12 the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) was approached by Raziyat Isabekova, a resident of the village of Novokayakent, Kayakent District of Dagestan, who asked to help to find her daughter – Saida Khalikova, a student of the Medical Academy of Astrakhan, who was detained in December 2014 on suspicion of financing militants, and, according to some data at disposal of her relatives, was taken for investigatory actions to Moscow, where she can be kept at the Lefortovo SIZO (pre-trial prison).
By a judgement of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow, the girl is kept in custody and accused of promoting the terrorist activities, revealed Sabir Agaev, her advocate. According to his story, the girl raised money and donated it to the account of some charity fund, which was allegedly helping "Muslim youth in need". "My client did not know who owns the website; she raised 43,000 roubles, and transferred them to the account. Only later, she learned that the website belongs to the followers of non-traditional Islam; and the money goes to sponsor the IS," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Agaev as saying today.
