Two caches with mortar shells liquidated in Chechnya
Two caches with mortar shells were liquidated in Chechnya on May 3, reported the regional headquarters on the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus. According to the headquarters, one cache was disclosed near the village of Mesker-Yurt in the Shali district. "Six MON-90 shells were found in the cache. They were taken afield and blown up there," a spokesman for the headquarters said. Officers of the Shali district interior department are searching for the people suspected of their complicity in the creation of the cache, he added.
Besides, mortar shells concealed in a cleft and masked with branches were found near the village of Dargo in the Vedeno district. According to the headquarters, there were 11 82-mm shells in the cache. They were destroyed on the spot. Investigative actions are under way, the spokesman said.
