Oil terminal in port of Batumi, Chakvsky bridge mine-strewn
A fast response unit under Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze has mined the oil terminal in the port of Batumi, a source at the Georgian National Security Council reported today. Besides, the Chakvsky bridge, which is on the territory of Adjaria and leads to the second largest city in the autonomy, Kobuleti, is mine-strewn. Both the terminal and the bridge were mined as early as May 1, the source added. Bridges across the Choloki, Kakuti, and Dzhikhandzhuri Rivers, where the administrative border between the autonomy and the rest of Georgia lies, were mined the same day. These bridges are known to have been blown up on May 2, when large-scale military exercises were conducted in Poti.
