"Summa" Group not to transfer "Peter the Great's House" to Derbent balance sheet
The issue of the transfer of the museum complex "Peter the Great's House" to the balance sheet of the city of Derbent is being considered; however, so far, no decision has been made, said Khuchbar Khuchbarov, the spokesman of the "Summa" Group of Companies in Dagestan, adding that most likely joint projects with the Mayoralty will be implemented in the complex.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the museum complex was opened on July 23 this year in Derbent. Its main object is the renovated pavilion-colonnade, built in the early 19th century over the dugout, in which Peter the Great stopped. According to a source from the charity fund, controlled by the entrepreneur Ziyavudin Magomedov, almost 200 million roubles were spent to renovate the complex.
The status of the museum complex has not been defined yet, said Khuchbar Khuchbarov, adding that it is still unknown whether it will transferred to the balance sheet of the city or not.
Earlier, the truthfulness of the emperor's stay in Derbent during his Persian campaign was confirmed by Natalia Kopelyanskaya, a senior researcher at the Russian Institute for Cultural Studies. According to her version, the fact is confirmed both by documents and "the archaeological excavations conducted under the supervision of architect Gurdjiev."
