Former Imam fined in Volgograd Region for keeping extremist literature

Aslbek Ryskaliev, a resident of the Pallasovka District and a former Imam of the local mosque, has been found guilty of possessing and spreading books, included in the federal list of extremist materials.

According to law enforcers, the former Imam, who was released from service back in 2013, continued his preaching activities.

The banned literature was confiscated during a search of his house, the edition "V1.ru" reports, quoting the press service of the regional frontier department of the FSB.

The Pallasovka District Court has found Aslbek Ryskaliev guilty of an administrative offense, envisaged by Article 20.29 of the Russian Administrative Code (production and distribution of extremist materials) and fined him by 1000 roubles with confiscation of the materials.

The date of passing the ruling is not reported; and it is not known whether Ryskaliev has appealed against it. No comments from former Imam or his representatives regarding the sentence have been reported yet.

On October 15, 2013, the same court already found Ryskaliev guilty of committing a similar offense and fined him then by 4000 roubles, the "Blocknote. Volgograd" reports.
