Feast of Eid al-Adha declared day off in Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria
The police are advised to take additional measures to ensure the safety on September 24, when Muslims celebrate the holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov has signed a decree on the measure to celebrate the Muslim holiday, according to which the day of September 24 is declared a day off in Ingushetia, the press service of the Ingush leader reports. The decree instructs the heads of the ministries, departments, public institutions and agencies to ensure day-and-night duty during the holiday.
The Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is recommended to take additional measures to ensure public order on the holiday, the MIA's press release reports.
The day of September 24 has also been declared a day off in Kabardino-Balkaria. The related decree was signed by Yuri Kokov, the leader of Kabardino-Balkaria, the website of the Kabardino-Balkarian leader reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that Saudi Arabia allocated to Russians citizens the quota equal to 16,400 places. However, Russian Muslims have been able to purchase only 12,500 trips. This year, only residents of Chechnya and Ingushetia managed to completely use the quotas allocated to their republics.
