Law enforcers return documents seized during search to "Mashr" leader

The main part of the property seized during the search held on November 6 at the office of the human rights organization "Mashr" has been returned. Two system blocks and a hard drive have been sent to the Investigating Department for Ingushetia of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 6, in Ingushetia, men in masks searched the office of the Ingush human rights organization "Mashr" and the house of its leader Magomed Mutsolgov. Law enforcers seized from the office documents and PCs.

The experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have explained the searches of the "Mashr" office by struggle against dissent. Magomed Mutsolgov himself has claimed that he received warnings about possible criminal proceedings against him for his public activity. The fact that Magomed Mutsolgov is publicly criticizing the policies and decisions of the authorities in relation to Georgia, Ukraine, and Syria has been mentioned as one of the reasons for the search.

According to advocate Djabrail Abubakarov, on November 30, the property was returned to the organization by field investigators after a questioning at the building of the Ingush Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

"We received back the main documents relating to the activities of the organization and reports of receipts of entries got from the donor charity foundations," the advocate has explained.

According to Ingush writer Issa Kodzoev, the organization "Mashr" always acted under the law.
