Conference on resolution of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict held in Moscow
A trilateral meeting devoted to the "Russian factor" in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict took place in Moscow on June 21-22. Its participants were representatives of non-governmental organizations and political scientists from Abkhazia, Georgia and Russia. They analyzed the modern internal political situation in Georgia and Abkhazia and the role of Russia in the Georgian-Abkhazian relations and in the resolution of the conflict.
Among the speakers were deputy of the Georgian parliament Ivlian Khaindrava, chairperson of the Abkhazian Women's Association Natella Akaba, researcher Abesalom Lepsaya, Aleksandr Sokolov from the Human Rights Center Memorial, human rights activist Marina Pavlova-Silvanskaya, and Dmitry Trenin from the Carnegie Moscow Center.
