Pernod Ricard to continue cooperation with Nagorno-Karabakh
President Arkadii Gukasian of the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh received on June 29 Pierre Larretche, director of Yerevan Brandy Company which belongs to French based Pernod Ricard. The president observed the company's cooperation with Nagorno-Karabakh organizations contributed to the economic development of the republic.
In an interview to Caucasian Knot's correspondent, Pierre Larretche observed in particular that cooperation with Nagorno-Karabakh had started after Nagorno-Karabakh grapes had been included in Armenia's official standards in July 2003. Pierre Larretche also noted their operations were absolutely legal. He emphasized the company was independent and highly appreciated in the world; it did not interfere in politics, so he did not understand why they should stop programs that worked for the development of the region in general.
Araik Arutiunian, director of the Karabakh Gold company which cooperates with Yerevan Brandy Company, said his company had supplied the plant with 2,300 tons of grapes last year. This year, they are going to raise supplies to 3,000 tons. The President of Nagorno-Karabakh conferred the Gratitude medal on Pierre Larretche.
