Vyacheslav Derev's powers as Senator from Karachay-Cherkessia terminated

At the meeting, members of the Federation Council have pronounced the early termination of the powers of Vyacheslav Derev, a Senator from Karachay-Cherkessia, at his request.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 26, Vadim Tyulpanov, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Rules, reported that Vyacheslav Derev wrote an application for early resignation from the post of a Senator at his own request. This was also reported by the message, received by the SMS-service of the "Caucasian Knot".

It should be noted that 66-year-old Vyacheslav Derev represented the executive power of Karachay-Cherkessia at the Federation Council since April 7, 2011, and he worked for the Federation Council Committee for Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management. According to the information available on the website of the Federation Council, his term as a Senator was to expire in March.

Earlier, "Kommersant" has reported with reference to a source from the administration of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic that Vyacheslav Derev may be replaced at the post of a Senator by Rauf Arashukov, the head of the administration of the Khabez District.
