Bocharov: new building in Kosmonavtov Street to be erected in one year
A new high-rise building will be built in place of the destroyed nine-story apartment house in Kosmonavtov Street in the Dzerzhinsky District of Volgograd in one year, said Andrei Bocharov, Governor of the Volgograd Region.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the explosion in the apartment building No. 47 in Kosmonavtov Street occurred on December 20, 2015. Experts concluded that the house should be demolished. On December 29, 2015, the tenants sent letters to President of Russia and Volgograd Governor with a proposal not to provide them with temporary housing, but direct the saved funds to construction of a residential building in place of their house.
The authorities of the Volgograd Region decided to build, by the end of 2016, a new house for the tenants of the destroyed one, Larissa Borodaeva, the head of tenants' activists, said today with reference to the regional construction committee.
Bocharov has noted that "the dismantling of the building should start on February 11 and complete before April 1". Ii is planned to issue housing certificates to tenants by May 1.
A source from the press service of the Volgograd regional administration said that "a draft contract with a company-developer has been prepared."
