Transcaucasian Highway reopened

After the improvement of the weather conditions, the traffic along the Transcaucasian Highway has been resumed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 22, the traffic has been stopped on the section of Buron-North Portal of the Roki Tunnel of the Transcaucasian Highway because of the threat of avalanches and heavy snowfalls.

The potential to ensure the safety of vehicles on the road came after the normalization of the weather conditions in South Ossetia and reduction of the threat of avalanches, reports the website of the Chief Department for North Ossetia of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies.

Let us remind you that on January 29, the traffic was suspended on the section of Buron-North Portal of the Transcaucasian Highway because of the threat of avalanches. The traffic was resumed on January 30.
